It has a 5 volt and 2 amp input and three USB outputs all at 5 volts and different ampere ratings of 2.1 amps, 2 amps and 1 amp. Jetsun Solar Charger 16750 mAh Portable Solar Power Bank review

The Jetsun Portable Solar Power Bank provides a decent power output at a reasonable price. With a maximum output of 16,750 mAh this solar power bank is sure to meet your needs when you are out and about. It only weighs 11 ounces and measures 6.3 inches high by 3.3 inches wide and 0,8 inches thick. Jetsun Solar Charger

The solar power charging is not that powerful and it will take a few days to fully charge the pack in direct sunlight. The idea is to give you enough charge so that you can make a couple of emergency calls in a single day.

The Jetsun Portable Solar Power Bank has two USB ports so you will be able to charge up two different devices at a time. The output of these ports is the same at 5 volts and 2.1 amps and charging smart phones is fairly fast. It is ideal for those days out where you don’t have access to power to charge your devices.

You can see the charge that this solar power pack has by looking at the four LED indicator lights provided. There are two LED torches with this unit which are certainly bright enough for night time activities.

This is a durable solar power bank which will withstand outdoor use. It has a hardwearing shell that should be able to withstand knocks and even drops. It is claimed that the unit is waterproof but we didn’t fully check that in our tests. It should be able to withstand rain but it is not a good idea to immerse fully in water.

Nekteck Solar Charger 10000mAh review

This solar power bank has a very good solar charging ability. It has a Sunpower solar cell panel and the manufacturers claim that it has really good conversion of between 21% and 24% which will lead to faster internal battery charging. It is not recommended as the prime source for charging this solar power bank however. Nekteck Solar Charger

This solar power bank has a Grade A cell lithium polymer battery that has a maximum output of 10,000 mAh. The USB output is 2.1 amps and this will charge most cell phones fairly rapidly. It is claimed that you will get over 1000 recharge cycles from the Nekteck Solar Charger 10000mAh.

This is a fairly compact solar power bank that will fit into most pockets and is easy to use in one hand.

It is 7.6 inches high by 4.5 inches wide and 1.8 inches thick. The unit only weighs just over 10 ounces. There is an LED flashlight built in which provides useful brightness in the dark.

You can charge this solar power bank via your computer or from a wall outlet. It has a rain resistant design and is also shock proof and dirt and dust proof. We actually dropped our Nekteck Solar Charger 10000mAh review while testing it and it was fine afterwards.

Dizaul 5000mAh Portable Solar Power Bank review

The biggest issue with the Dizaul 5000mAh Portable is that it is slow to charge. The power capacity is low at just 5000 mAh and the two USB ports will output 5 volts but only 1 amp. With a fully charged pack you can charge iPhone’s and Samsung Galaxy’s but it will take longer than with solar charging packs. Dizaul 5000mAh

It is also true to say that the Dizaul 5000mAh Portable will not charge most smart phones at their optimum charging speeds. There are two USB ports and it would have been better if there was just one providing an output of 5 volts and 2 amps. With a single port charging would be a lot faster than with two ports.

You can charge this solar pack by using an external power source. There is a micro USB input port and the charging configuration here is 5 volts at 1 amp. It will take around 5 hours to fully charge the pack from dead. You can use a wall powered charger of 1 amp to recharge the device.

The solar panel can also be used to charge up the bank. The recharge speed here is 5.5 volts at 0.21 amps. If your Dizaul 5000mAh Portable is completely dead then you will be looking at over 10 hours to fully charge it. This is the minimum time in direct sunlight.

This solar bank has some interesting functionality. It has a built in LED flashlight that can be really useful when you are stuck in the dark. There are four capacity LED indicators at the top, and there is a power button which you will need to press to start charging your phone or whatever.

Another good thing about the Dizaul 5000mAh Portable is that it is water resistant to a degree. Most power banks have no resistance to water at all. It can certainly handle being out in the rain but it will not be able to cope with a full submersion into water. This would probably damage the unit beyond repair. There are flaps that cover the USB ports when not in use.

The Dizaul 5000mAh Portable is a reliable solar power bank that will do the job for you. It doesn’t solely rely on solar power which is a good feature, but you will have to wait quite a while for your devices to recharge.

Dizaul 5000mAh Portable Pros

Summaries from real customer reviews:

“Does a good job overall” – quite a number of customers were impressed with the overall performance of the Dizaul 5000mAh Portable. They felt that for the money it did pretty well and they were glad that they purchased it.

“Good for outdoor use” – there were a good few comments about how resilient this solar power bank was and how it was great to use outside because there was some waterproofing and it was pretty solidly constructed.

Dizaul 5000mAh Portable Cons

Summaries from real customer reviews:

“Not enough charge” – a few customers stated their dismay that the solar charging capacity was just not effective on this model. One customer said that charging for hours in the sun was not enough to charge even one smart phone.

“Quality is poor” – some comments were received about the quality of this solar power bank. A handful of people stated that the bank had stopped working altogether only after a few charges.

Summary

There is really not a great deal to choose between these five solar power banks. If you are looking for quality and durability then the ZeroLemon SolarJuice USB-C/QC 3.0 stands out at the top of the pile.

If solar charging is important to you then there is a clear winner which is the Ruipu 24000 mAh Power Bank Portable. You can also charge this solar power bank by using an ordinary lamp at home.

It is really a question of power with these solar power banks. The more power that you want the more money you will have to spend. In truth you will not go wrong with any of the solar power banks that made our top five.
